Vibrant Street Art Courtyard Mural in Melbourne
A Bold Residential Mural for a Melbourne Courtyard
This residential mural in Melbourne was created to bring colour, energy and personality to a private back courtyard. The client wanted something vibrant and distinctly different from a traditional realistic mural, giving me the freedom to lean into my street art and graffiti-inspired style.
As with many of my residential mural projects, I started by visiting the property and talking through the space, the client's ideas and the kind of artwork they wanted to live with. After discussing colour preferences and looking through examples of my previous work, we developed a concept built around the flowing visual language I use throughout my street art. Flowers, eyes, teeth, stairs, raindrops and abstract shapes were brought together into a bold composition designed specifically for the courtyard. Once the concept was finalised, I carefully masked the surrounding areas with tape and drop sheets before painting the mural to create a clean, vibrant finish.
Street Art Mural Designed for Your Home
I think the best residential murals come from a combination of a clear starting point and an open mind. You might know you want a colourful back fence, a bold courtyard wall or something inspired by Melbourne street art, without necessarily knowing exactly what the finished artwork should look like. That's where I can take the idea and develop it into something unique to your home.
Not every residential mural needs to be realistic or immediately recognisable. If you're into street art, graffiti, abstract artwork and bold graphic design, a mural can be a great way to turn an otherwise ordinary fence or outdoor wall into a feature that completely changes the feel of a space.
I particularly enjoy working with tricky or unconventional spaces, because they often create the most interesting opportunities. A back fence, courtyard wall or awkward section of a home can become a focal point rather than just another surface.
If you've got a space at home that needs some colour, I'm always up for the challenge.
