Freehand Spray Painting Workshops
Learn Spray Paint Techniques Without Stencils
These hands-on workshops give students the opportunity to learn how to use spray paint freehand, developing confidence with spray control, line work, shapes and colour.
Students are introduced to techniques I use in my own mural practice and learn how to control the paint to create different marks, edges, shapes and effects. From there, they can experiment with these techniques to develop their own artwork.
The workshop provides a structured introduction to spray painting while giving students plenty of room to explore and make their own creative decisions.
What Students Learn
Students are introduced to the practical foundations of freehand spray painting, including:
Spray control and pressure
Creating lines, shapes and clean edges
Layering and building colour
Working at a larger scale
Developing confidence with spray paint
Translating ideas into a finished artwork
The aim is to give students a genuine introduction to the medium while keeping the workshop approachable and focused on experimentation.
What's Included
A 1.2m × 1.2m MDF painting surface for each student
All spray paint, paints and materials required
Drop sheets and materials for protecting surrounding areas
Presentation from a working artist sharing my experience and creative journey
Guidance throughout the creative and painting process
PPE including masks and gloves
Please note: Schools need to provide suitable easels for students to paint their artworks on. I provide my own easel for demonstration purposes, but do not provide enough easels for a full class. Painting aprons are also not provided.
Program Structure
This workshop generally works well as a two to four session program, allowing students time to learn the techniques, develop their ideas and create a finished large-scale artwork.
The program can be adjusted to suit your school's timetable, year level and needs, with sessions adapted or restructured to fit within existing school programs and available class time.
Experience the Medium Behind Mural Art
Spray painting is a major part of my own mural practice, so students are learning directly from an artist who uses these techniques professionally.
The workshop gives students the chance to work with spray paint in a structured environment while learning techniques they can continue developing beyond the program.

Inspiring the Next Generation Through Art
WWCC Certified - 10+ Years Experience
I turned my passion for art into a full-time creative career, working across mural painting, street art, design and community projects. I love sharing that experience with young people and showing them the creative career pathways that can come from pursuing their own ideas.
For more than 10 years, I’ve worked with schools, community groups and youth organisations delivering workshops, murals and creative programs. I hold a current Working With Children Check and specialise in creating safe, supportive and engaging environments where students can experiment, contribute their ideas and build confidence through art.
