School Art Workshops & Programs in Melbourne
Creative, Hands-On Art Experiences for Students
WWCC Certified - 10+ Years Experience
I run art workshops and creative programs for primary and secondary schools across Melbourne, combining practical art-making with an introduction to my work as a professional mural and street artist. Every workshop starts with a short presentation about how I became an artist and what the work is really like, so students feel inspired before they pick up a brush.
Programs adapt to your year levels, class sizes and school environment, from a single session to a multi-stage creative program.
Skateboard Art Workshops
Students design and paint their own skateboard
A hands-on, multi-day program where every student designs and paints their own skateboard artwork, guided by a working artist. Each student gets a blank, paint-ready board and all the materials. It works best as three sessions, so ideas have room to grow without rushing.
Graffiti Canvas Workshops
Create your own graffiti-inspired artwork
Students learn lettering, composition, colour and the techniques that shaped Melbourne's street art culture, then create their own graffiti-inspired canvas. It's accessible for beginners and leaves room for each student to develop a personal style.
Spray Painting Workshops
Learn Spray Paint Techniques Used in Mural Art
Students learn how to use spray paint without relying on stencils, developing confidence with spray control, line work, shapes and colour.
These hands-on workshops introduce students to techniques I use in my own mural practice while giving them the freedom to experiment, build confidence and create their own artwork using spray paint.
What's Included
A 1.2m × 1.2m MDF painting surface for each student
All spray paint, paints and materials required
Drop sheets and materials for protecting the workspace
Printed reference and inspiration materials
Guidance throughout the creative and painting process
Presentation from a working artist sharing my experience and creative journey
Personal protective equipment including masks and gloves
Program Structure
This workshop generally works well as a two to four session program, allowing students to learn spray painting techniques, develop their ideas and create a finished artwork without rushing the process.
The program can be adjusted to suit your school's timetable, year level and needs, with sessions adapted or restructured to work within existing school programs and available class time.
Please note: Schools need to provide suitable easels for students to paint their MDF artworks on. I provide my own easel for demonstration purposes, but do not provide enough easels for a full class. Painting aprons are also not provided.
Interactive School Mural Programs
From Student Ideas to a Professional Legacy Mural
This is a more involved creative program that combines student workshops, professional mural design and hands-on painting to create a completely custom artwork for your school.
The process begins with a student focus group and creative workshops designed to explore the themes, values and ideas the school wants the mural to communicate. These ideas are then developed into a high-resolution, full-colour concept mockup showing how the finished mural will look on the wall for school review and approval.
What's Included
Once the concept is approved, I manage the mural from preparation through to completion, with the program including:
Student focus group and interactive workshops
Creative development around school themes and ideas
High-resolution, full-colour mural concept mockups
Agreed design revisions before painting begins
Wall preparation and priming where required
All paint, brushes and painting materials
Ladders and required access equipment
Drop sheets and materials to protect surrounding areas
PPE for students participating in the painting process
Professional finishing, detailing and final touch-ups
The school can also choose how involved students are in the painting process. This can range from a single supervised painting session through to a more hands-on program where students contribute throughout the mural's creation.
A Workshop That Leaves Something Behind
The result is more than a series of art sessions. Students become part of creating a permanent piece of artwork that enhances the school environment and can be enjoyed for years to come.
Each mural is developed specifically for the school, turning student ideas into a professional finished artwork that can tell a story, reflect the school's identity and create a lasting legacy for its students and wider community.
A Flexible Program Built Around Your School
Student participation can range from limited to highly involved
Workshops can be structured around your existing school program
The mural can be developed around themes or values identified by the school
The number and format of sessions can be adjusted to suit the project
The overall approach can be tailored to your goals, timetable and budget
I work closely with each school throughout the process to make sure the experience is engaging for students while the finished mural is delivered to a high professional standard.
School Talks & Artist Presentations
What Students Can Take Away
An insight into the life of a professional working artist
How I got started and developed my own practice
The creative and practical process behind murals and street art
An understanding of different opportunities available to young artists
Encouragement for alternative creative pathways
Presentations can be adapted to suit different year levels, school events and available time.
Inspiration From a Working Professional Artist
I also offer school talks and artist presentations designed to give students an insight into life as a working artist and the different pathways that can lead to a creative career.
I share my own journey into street art and mural painting, the process of developing a professional art practice and what it is like to work on projects for schools, councils, businesses and major brands.
These talks can be used as a standalone school presentation or incorporated into one of my practical workshop programs to give students inspiration and context before they begin creating their own artwork.

I turned my passion for art into a full-time creative career, working across mural painting, street art, design and community projects. I love sharing that experience with young people and showing them the creative career pathways that can come from pursuing their own ideas.
For more than 10 years, I’ve worked with schools, community groups and youth organisations delivering workshops, murals and creative programs. I hold a current Working With Children Check and specialise in creating safe, supportive and engaging environments where students can experiment, contribute their ideas and build confidence through art.
