Sports Themed School Mural On Basketball Court
Painted By Melbourne Mural Artist Lukas Kasper
Assisted By Students
At Copperfield College Sydenham Campus, I worked closely with students to design and paint a large-scale sports themed mural that reflected the activities they’re most passionate about. The students shared their favourite sports: Soccer, AFL, Netball, and Basketball along with ideas about how these games shape their school experience. Using their input, I created a dynamic scene featuring students in their own school uniforms, actively playing each sport. Together, we brought their ideas to life, resulting in a vibrant, student-driven mural that celebrates school spirit, teamwork, and the energy of their community.
Step By Step Process:
Step 1: Brainstorm ideas with students through an engaging workshop of drawing, conversation & writing
Step 2: Take those ideas back to the studio to create a moodboard with
Step 3: Put together general sketches to give the school options for the look of the mural
Step 4: Finalise mural design and begin preparing paint and materials needed
Step 5: Paint Away!
