Melrose PS Interactive School Mural

This mural was inspired by ideas of the students of “Melrose PS” in Wodonga VIC. Given a general theme of acceptance, togetherness, kindness and other positive values the students came up with words and visuals to explain what it meant to them.

Throughout this process there where key threads of: Lightbulbs, candles, hands, flowers, words, bee’s, rainbows & love hearts. With all of these combined I came to this concept design that we than painted as a team over a 3 day period. All in all a very rewarding process for the students and leaves the school with a colourful memory that will last for a very long time.

My favourite part of these School Murals are the special moments, during this process I had a few young keen artists ask for advice and at the end of the process hand me a piece they’d created to say thanks, I make sure to always have a sticker pack or two in the back pocket for moments like this.
