Melbourne Mural Artist Brings Life To An Airbnb In Fitzroy
Transforming a small studio apartment in the heart of Fitzroy, Melbourne, with a custom mural inspired by the neighbourhood's street art, pubs, gardens and unmistakable local character.
This Fitzroy mural was commissioned to turn a compact Airbnb apartment into more than just a place to stay.
The aim was to create a unique interior experience that reflected the personality of Fitzroy and gave visitors a sense of the neighbourhood before they had even stepped outside.
Drawing inspiration from Fitzroy's iconic graffiti, Fitzroy Gardens, local pubs including the Napier Hotel, and the eclectic visual character of the surrounding streets, I created a custom mural designed specifically for the space.
As a Melbourne mural artist with a background in street art and graffiti, I approached the project with the intention of bringing some of Fitzroy's outdoor energy into the apartment while still making the mural work within a small residential interior.

In this studio apartment, the mural was designed to work with the existing layout and turn an otherwise fairly plain interior into a feature that immediately captures attention.
Rather than applying a generic design, the artwork was developed specifically around the location. Elements of Fitzroy's streetscape, greenery, architecture and local culture were brought together into one continuous composition.
