A Community Engaged

An interactive mural painted on the beautiful Westvale Community Centre

To begin the process of this commission with Brimbank City Council I sat down with 5 young artists to get their ideas and creative input on what they would like to see in the project, to keep everyone on track I gave the general subject of the local environment. After a brainstorming and sketching session I took these ideas and developed them into a realised mural with other concepts of my own. By the end of the process we ended up with an amazing piece that tells the story of the local environment and community all as one.

To make this community driven project that much more special I sketched out spaces in this piece to be simple enough for everyone who had a say in the concept design to have a go at physically painting in the mural itself, an incredibly rewarding process with an great team of future creatives in Melbourne Western Suburbs.

Location: Westvale Community Centre
